The Quality of Life Survey is a partnership between the Auckland, Wellington, Porirua, Hutt, Christchurch and Dunedin City Councils. The survey has been conducted every two years since 2002. The survey measures the perceptions of over 5,000 residents living in most of New Zealand’s major cities. The survey aims to measure respondents’ perceptions in several domains, including: quality of life, health and wellbeing, crime and safety, community, culture and social networks, council decision-making processes, environment, public transport, lifestyle – work and study.
