moh

In 2008 the Ministry of Health commissioned the Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NPAS). A 3-year longitudinal study to provide nationally representative results on key outcomes for the Healthy Eating – Healthy Action (HEHA) Strategy. Launched in 2003, HEHA is a high-level framework to improve nutrition, increase physical activity, and reduce obesity. The strategy’s vision is: An environment and society where individuals, families and whanau, and communities are supported to eat well, live physically active lives, and attain and maintain a healthy body weight. For more information on the HEHA strategy, please visit the Ministry of Health website.
